Best Concealers For Dark Circles According to This Pat McGrath MUA

If you’re a makeup enthusiast and you’re not subscribed to Alexandra Anele, WYD? But in all seriousness… if you haven’t heard of this hidden gem, Alexandra does informative makeup tutorials and life-changing beauty recommendations.

Yes, we said life-changing, don’t come for us.

It’s worth mentioning that she’s affiliated with Pat McGrath, so granted she knows what the heck she’s doing. Another reason why she’s worth watching is because she’s relatable as far as skin flaws are concerned—blemishes, dark undereyes, and unevenness… you name it, she’s got a hack for it.

Alexandra tried different concealers to see which ones did the job of concealing her dark undereyes. For those of you who suffer from dark circles, there’s no better recommendation to get from than a dark undereye girl herself.

Here are some that impressed her:

Benefit Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer

We love Benefit Cosmetics eye products but did you know they got a bomb AF concealer too? According to Alexandra, she uses this the most because not only is the coverage good, but the formula is so flexible that you can choose to set it or not.

It’s a pretty versatile concealer that you can use when you just want to go for minimal makeup. It also lives up to its name—it doesn’t feel thick or cakey even with full coverage.

Too Faced Born This Way Multi-use

This hydrating concealer is perfect for the dry skin types! Not only is it full coverage enough to hide your dark undereyes, it simultaneously hydrates them.

The downside, according to Alexandra, is that it doesn’t last as much as she wants it to. She said if you want it to last, you need to set it with powder properly. Another qualm she had is that it’s also hard to find the perfect undertone for her with this product. If you have an olive undertone too, maybe that’s something you should consider.

Tarte Shape Tape

This one needs honestly no introduction. Shape Tape has been known to have a great shade range plus great undertones to boot. It has a very matte finish, so it’s not really a go-to concealer if you want something hydrating. But if you’re oily, then this is perfect.

She considers this as the universal concealer as it has full coverage and leaves the most seamless finish, which is kinda why it’s every beauty enthusiast’s holy grail.

Another bonus? None of that ugly gray cast!

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye

To get it out of the way, this waterproof and anti-aging concealer’s shade range isn’t that fantastic. It does have decent coverage but only if you build it up. One small amount goes a long way though and it retains moisture on your skin, so if you don’t mind building up the product, go ahead and try this one.

It wears well throughout the day and doesn’t budge or crease—which is a dream, right?! She advises not to set the concealer because it will last the day anyway.

Alexandra was mind-blown off the bat. This drugstore concealer has full coverage without looking heavy on your skin. She goes as far as claiming that it’s pretty close to being a dupe for Tarte Shape Tape, despite being less than half the price. If that doesn’t convince you, what will?

This concealer has a luminous finish and feels flexible on the skin. If you’re looking for an affordable but effective concealer, this one’s a must-have.

Jouer Essential Concealer

Alexandra was at a loss for words as soon as she blended the product. She said the coverage is a gift that keeps on giving and claims that it’s the most full coverage concealer she’s ever used in her life.

She loved it so much that she said she’s going to start using it often from now on and thinks she can ditch the color corrector because it’s THAT good.
